Poem “Color” by The Soggy Cornflake

You get your whites and blues and I’ll get my greys and greens
Let’s have a happy colour palette for once in our lives
Maybe something out of this we’ll make.
A pretty portrait perhaps of your face
When I make you laugh and you
Grin your best grin
Laugh your happiest laugh
Smile your smile
Your copper-coloured,
Bright yellow smile.
I’ll take all your acrylic
And bind it to my canvas
You’re the only white splatter in my ink-black sky.
